THE DEFENDERS OF JUSTICE: CHANGING THE LANDSCAPE OF THE LA COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT

WHERE WE STARTED

Launched in 2022 by La Defensa, Ground Game LA, and judicial accountability organizers, the first iteration of The Defenders of Justice was made up of four progressive attorneys looking to revolutionize the bench in Los Angeles County. We were successful in electing Judge Holly Hancock to the LA Superior Court as the first Black public defender to ever do so.
